The East Indian Rosewood is a dense hardwood that possesses a rich, vibrant collections of colours that can range from chocolate to deep purple. Furthermore, the striations of the wood are dramatically different and present a “busy” appearance. In young Rosewood, there is pale, white sapwood that contrasts sharply with the darker tones and colours of the remaining wood. The rosewood is very hard, tough and durable with a remarkably smooth texture for such variation in grain patterns.
